The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats won for the eighth time in 2008 with a hard-fought 14-12 win over the Bison of Howard University Saturday at Municipal Stadium on Senior Day. Howard (1-9, 0-7) gave B-CU (8-2, 5-2 MEAC) all it could handle and it took a blocked PAT play and stopping a late two-point conversion to hang on for the win. [+] SENIORS IN LAST HOME GAME SATURDAY
Bethune-Cookman (7-2, 4-2 MEAC) hosts Howard University Saturday, 4 p.m. at Municipal Stadium. The game will be the final home game for 12 Wildcats seniors and the group will be honored in pre-game ceremonies. [+] DEFENSE KEYS 17-6 WIN AT HAMPTON UNIVERSITY
A swarming B-CU defense led the way with the Wildcats winning 17-6 at Hampton University. The win for B-CU (now 7-2, 4-2 MEAC) was the 84th career coaching win for Head Coach Alvin B. The Wildcats lead 7-6 after two quarters, combining the rushing of Sr. QB McKinson Souverain (59 yards, 7 carries) and the stellar defense of Sr. safety Travis Roland (1 sack and 3 tackles for losses). The Wildcats' defense stopped the Pirates on numerous plays inside the ten yard line and limited HU to two short field goals. [+]
